Dr. Luc Boileau will no longer be Quebec’s public health director, a position he has held since 2022. He will be replaced by Dr. Caroline Quach-Thanh.

She will take up her new duties, which include the title of assistant deputy minister at the Ministry of Health and Social Services, on Sept. 29. Dr. Quach-Thanh is well known in the media. Her expertise as a microbiologist-infectiologist at CHU Sainte-Justine often led her to be part of press conferences and interviews at the height of the COVID-19 crisis.

Dr. Quach-Thanh is also a full professor in the Department of Microbiology, Infectiology, and Immunology and the Department of Pediatrics at l’Université de Montréal.
