QUINCY (WGEM) - Quincy Notre Dame Head Coach Jack Cornell has been suspended from coaching responsibilities for Friday’s game against Alton-Marquette, according to QND Athletic Director and Dean of Students Bill Connell.

Connell reported Cornell was suspended due to him exercising poor judgement in a pregame meeting on Aug. 29.

Assistant Coach Ben Morrison will serve as interim head coach while Cornell is suspended.

Connell said Cornell will resume coaching on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Connell said the suspension is specific to Cornell’s coaching duties and will not impact his day-to-day teaching responsibilities.
