KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 34-year-old woman was charged in Wyandotte County after being accused of leaving her child alone in a locked car last month.

The Wyandotte County District Attorney charged Yeraldin Barcenas-Bolivar with one count of aggravated endangering a child.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office responded to a call just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 20 for a child locked in a car in the Target parking lot near Legends Outlets in Kansas City, Kansas.

A deputy was sent to the scene with a lock-out kit. The deputy used the kit to break the car window and get the child out.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and was placed under police protective custody, according to the sheriff's office.
