An Alsip man has been charged in a Greater Grand Crossing shooting that occurred in May, according to Chicago police.
Chad Brooks, 47, was arrested Tuesday in suburban Alsip, police said. He faces a charge for attempted first-degree murder, police said.
A 37-year-old man was in a verbal altercation with Brooks in the 500 block of East 75th Street at 10:20 p.m. May 25 when the man began to leave in an SUV, and Brooks shot him from the sidewalk, police said.
The victim stopped the vehicle and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition; he was shot twice in his legs and once in the arm, police said.
Brooks is due in court Thursday, police said.
