TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Health Department received recognition Wednesday morning for its accreditation with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
MDHHS coordinates the Michigan Local Public Health Accreditation Program to assure and enhance the quality of local public health services across the state. The program evaluates the 45 local health departments throughout Michigan to ensure they meet public health standards. This accreditation is the most recent for the county's health department, with the earliest accreditation noted in 1998.
