TRUMBULL, CT. (WFSB) - A man was arrested for a DUI and driving over 100 MPH on Route 8 last week.
State police say that at 11:33 p.m. on August 28th, a trooper was patrolling on Route 8 in Bridgeport when he saw a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee approaching their cruiser at an extremely high rate of speed.
The trooper accelerated to try and catch up to the vehicle after it passed them. They observed that the driver, 44-year-old Nathaniel Earl, was going over 100 MPH.
Earl slowed down after the trooper caught up to him and pulled over to the right shoulder near exit 6 in Trumbull.
He exhibited signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. There was also an odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle.
Earl agreed to field sobriety testing and failed, leading to his arrest.
