TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting near a Tucson park late last month.

The Tucson Police Department said Jose Enrique Cureses, 35, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery on Tuesday, Sept. 2. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

The TPD said Cureses fatally shot 35-year-old Emmanuel Loya in the 5200 block of South Champion Stravenue, which is near Rudy Garcia Park, on Aug. 22.

Loya was taken to the hospital by passenger vehicle, and he died there.
