ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) - A man believed to be in the U.S. illegally was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 3:02 a.m. in Elko on drug trafficking charges after 7.44 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and 2.41 pounds of suspected counterfeit oxycodone pills were found inside his vehicle, according to an Elko County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The Department of Homeland Security placed an immigration detainer on Eduar Adonis Coello Arrazola because he is believed to be in the United States illegally, according to a Wednesday, Sept. 3, post.

Arrazola’s bail is set at $500,000.

The incident began when a deputy stopped Arrazola’s vehicle for exceeding the speed limit on Interstate 80.

When speaking with driver and its five passengers, “suspicious criminal indicators were present,” the post said
