MADISON, Wis. -- The City of Madison is set to test new traffic patterns on Williamson Street after continued crashes impacted local businesses.
“We even installed that building sign as a safety measure to let people know there’s a building here," said Stephanie Rearick, Co-Owner of Mother Fool's Coffeehouse.
The coffee shop has seen at least three cars crash into its storefront on the corner of S. Ingersoll and Williamson Streets.
"Apparently it's very attractive to automobiles," Rearick said. "[The street] is clearly not designed for the level of traffic and the type of traffic it's been getting."
The city's traffic commission agrees. A new pilot program will reassess how cars travel down Willy Street with a lane removal test . Currently, there are two inbound lanes toward John Nol
