KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Tennesseans have taken home billions over the years, including some of the largest jackpots in American history. From scratch-offs to multimillion jackpots, players across the state have cashed in big.

Since its start, the Tennessee Lottery has awarded more than $21.7 billion dollars in prizes.

The largest prize went to a player in Munford, who split the record-setting $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot in 2016. They split the prize with two other winners for a $528 million payout.

A Knoxville player claimed $259.8 million back in 2014 and a Knox County man scored a $50 million jackpot the following year on a ticket purchased in Harriman.
