Sony could be preparing a PS6 Portable to compete with the Nintendo Switch 2.
The claims come from YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, who says the device will deliver console-level performance in a portable form factor, with docked mode unlocking even greater power.
Reported specs include an AMD Canis APU with 4 Zen 6c and 2 Zen 6 LP cores, a 16 Compute Unit RDNA 5 GPU, and LPDDR5X memory.
The screen is expected to be 1080p at either 60Hz or 120Hz, with full backwards compatibility for PS4 and PS5 titles.
Perhaps most enticing for fans, the handheld is rumoured to cost between US$399–US$499 (A$620–A$770). That would make it significantly cheaper than Microsoft’s forthcoming ROG Ally X handheld, tipped to be priced closer to A$1,000.
If true, this would be Sony’s first major handheld since
