WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Neighbors in West Hartford did not have the Labor Day weekend they were expecting after walking out to see their signs saying, ‘We Stand with Israel’ and ‘Bring Home the Hostages’ that were displayed in their front yards, ripped and thrown into storm drains.

It’s a sight Ari Schaffer, who had to fish his sign out of a storm drain, said made one thing clear.

“What this showed is that antisemitism is alive and well in West Hartford. West Hartford, it's a beautiful town, it's a safe town, it's a comfortable town, and until this point, I thought it was a town safe from antisemitism.” Schaffer said.
