NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — While many people relaxed on Labor Day, correctional officers across Connecticut put their lives on the line enduring assaults that occurred at three different local prisons.
AFSCME Council 4, the union representing the correctional officers, released a report Wednesday evening detailing the “chaos and violence” that unfolded on Monday, Sept. 1.
The incidents took place at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield, the York Correctional Institution in Niantic and the Cheshire Correctional Institution in Cheshire.
