NEW MARKET, Ala. (WHNT) — The Buckhorn Bucks are off to a fast start in the David Green era.

The Bucks took down Athens 16-10 Friday night to advance to 2-0 on the season.

"I thought our guys played really hard, they played with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of effort, and so it was a great team win," Green said. "I thought they had a great week of practice, the kids were focused, so I'm very proud of them and how they handled themselves."

Buckhorn blocked a punt for a touchdown and saw a massive performance from senior leader Moses Whitecotton, who had an interception, forced a fumble and two sacks to go along with 10 tackles.

He says the team's success so far this season starts with the guys in the locker room.
