ROTTERDAM, NY (NEWS10) -- High school football gets underway Friday night in Section 2 and as it returns, so does our high school football show: 1st & 10. Our first game of the week features Glens Falls visiting Schalmont in a league battle. We caught up with Glens Falls last week. On Wednesday, we paid Schalmont a visit.

Schalmont will host defending Class B champion Glens Falls Friday night. The Sabres are coming off a down 4-5 season, but they did have a 4-1 league record. Not only that, last year's team was very young. Schalmont only graduated two starters, bringing most of their team back with experience under their belt.

The Sabres believe that experience will be huge, and they're motivated to turn it around this season. "Our guys really stuck together," said Schalmont head coach J
