KEOKUK (WGEM) - The cinematic experience is making a comeback in one Lee County, Iowa, town.
The former Plaza Cinema at the Keossippi Center, which closed in 2020, will reopen under a new name and ownership, called “The Revival.”
The new owner and manager, Michael Lambert, said he is working on some finishing touches and waiting on few pieces of equipment before opening to the public; however, he has opened the theater to area school kids already.
“We had [about 300 students] from Central Lee High School in here,” Lambert said. “And, Warsaw school has reached out. We’re very community-based and would like schools in the area to feel free and reach out.”
Lambert said there will be two theaters in total with a possible third one down the line. The Revival will also do private rentals.
