LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 5-year-old boy died Monday after sustaining traumatic injuries from a fall on the 2900 block of Conestoga Avenue, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene around 3 p.m. Sept. 2. The child was transported by EMS to Norton Children’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Due to the severity of the incident, the LMPD Homicide Unit took over the investigation. Authorities said the probe remains ongoing, pending the results of an autopsy.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances of the fall.
