During one Detroit Lions training camp practice this summer, a media-relations staff member sped toward the end zone in Allen Park.

He approached an older gentleman and apologized for the delay, then explained he could take him to meet with team owner Sheila Hamp.

It was Howard Schultz, the former Starbucks CEO who rescued the company after it opened too many stores too quickly. He was meeting with Hamp, but the people Schultz really needed to meet with were coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes.
