STILLWATER — Chad Weiberg had only been in his suite at Boone Pickens Stadium long enough to grab a bottle of water from the refrigerator when an old friend walked in.
Weiberg shook hands and exchanged smiles with Kurt McGuffin.
That would’ve happened regardless — the Oklahoma State athletic director and the UT Martin athletic director worked together at Kansas State for several years in the 2000s — but on Thursday night, Aug. 28, before their football programs kicked off their seasons, the handshakes were a little firmer, the smiles a little brighter.
