MAGNOLIA, Ohio — The Sandy Valley High School cross country and track teams are mourning the loss of longtime coach Ed Lidderdale, known as “Coach Lids,” who passed away earlier this week.
Lidderdale, a fixture in the Sandy Valley athletics community for decades, was inducted into the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (OATCCC) Hall of Fame in 2015.
The organization remembered him as someone whose "service is synonymous with all he did for both his athletes and the OATCCC!"
In a Facebook post, Sandy Valley Cross Country said , “Today we lost a great man in Coach Ed Lidderdale. Many of you know him as Lids. He has meant so much to many of you and to Sandy Valley… RIP Coach Lids you will be missed!”
