A Greensboro man has been charged with assault. Following his arrest drugs were seized from his residence, the Guilford County Sheriff's Department said in a release.
On Sept. 2 at approximately 5:45 p.m., deputies were called to 2808 Candlenut Road. Officers talked with David Scott Taylor who said he came to the residence to conduct a welfare check on his son, Brandon Wayne Taylor, the release said.
He said that after a brief conversation, Taylor, 30, began punching him in the face. The elder Taylor said he was punched approximately 20 times and hit twice with a chair, according to the sheriff's office.
He said his son then went to his car for a gun. The father said he was able to escape and called 911 to request aid, the release said.
Deputies removed David Scott Taylor from the area
