PONCHATOULA, La. (WVUE) - Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a Ponchatoula house fire that occurred early Wednesday morning (Sept. 3).

Bryce Travis Martin, 25, was booked on one count each of stalking, violations of protective orders, and nonconsensual disclosure of a private image.

Ponchatoula police say that the state fire marshal will submit their own suggested charges to the district attorney pending their investigation.

No one was inside the home located on Eight Street Drive, but a family pet did die as a result of the fire, police say.

Police say that Martin confessed to his alleged crimes after he was apprehended while traveling south on Rufus Bankston Road near Hammond.
