After no winners on Wednesday night, the Powerball jackpot has increased to become the third-largest prize in lottery history.
At $1.7 billion, with an estimated cash value of $770.3 million, the jackpot is also the third-largest prize in Powerball history — just behind two larger jackpots of $1.765 billion and $2.04 billion, which were won in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
The next drawing for the $1.7 billion jackpot will be held on Saturday.
The Powerball jackpot has not been hit all summer, with the last $204.5 million jackpot prize won on May 31 in California.
Powerball tickets cost $2 each. Tickets can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. the night of the drawing at Massachusetts State Lottery retailers across the state, and drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59
