SWANTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - A dump truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries after his vehicle crashed and rolled over while "loaded with asphalt" Wednesday.
This incident lead to the partial closure of I-89 near mile marker 120. ABC22/FOX44 covered this closure, which lasted around two hours.
Investigators found that the driver, a 23-year-old Vermont resident, had failed to maintain his lane while operating a 2020 Peterbilt dump truck. That commercial vehicle left the paved travel-area on I-89, entered the shoulder, crashed and rolled over while filled with asphalt.
The dump truck reportedly "sustained totaling damage".
An ambulance took the vehicle operator to Northwestern Medical Center while the roadway was cleaned. Officers say that a ticket was issued "to the operator
