Gorham, N.Y. — State officials are advising people to stay out of Flint Creek in Ontario County because a huge fire Saturday night at a warehouse that contained hand sanitizers and other materials.

The advisory comes after several hundred small dead fish were reported in the creek, according to state officials.

Firefighters were still putting out parts of the fire Wednesday morning, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The Eco Operations warehouse in Gorham was storing expired hand sanitizers and other volatile materials, according to Gorham town board records.

This summer, the town had taken the company to court trying to shut down the operation over safety concerns, according to the Finger Lakes Times .
