A Mt. Pleasant man is facing multiple felony counts after a woman reported she had been kidnapped by a homeless man in mid-August, held captive for a week and sexually assaulted in Isabella County, the Michigan State Police said on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

William Paul Thompson, 22, was arraigned in Isabella County District Court on Sept. 2 on charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct-weapon used, unlawful imprisonment, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, carrying a concealed weapon, and felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. Court records indicate the weapon was a firearm.
