BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a man after a report of suspicious activity in the area of Meade Springer and U.S. 60.

On Sept. 3 at approximately 11:45 a.m., deputies responded to the report after a caller said they saw a man attempting to cut down phone lines and reported he fled the scene, according to deputies.

Deputies said upon arrival they conducted a search of the area and discovered several sections of phone line had been cut and removed.

After the search, deputies said they found Corey McCallister, 34, of Summit, hiding in a nearby creek bed.

McCallister was found in possession of tools consistent with cutting wire, and items used to roll up the wire were also located nearby, deputies said.
