GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Department of Health Services issued a joint advisory Thursday about eating meat from ducks harvested on the bay of Green Bay.

Based on results of testing for PFAS, mallards should not be eaten if they were harvested on lower Green Bay, from Longtail Point and Point au Sable to the Fox River.

Mallards taken from upper Green Bay, from Longtail Point to Marinette and Sturgeon Bay, should be consumed no more than once per month. Wood ducks from that region should be limited to one meal per week.

The advisory is in effect immediately.
