BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A man implicated in a 2019 fatal shooting in Burlington was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison.

Alfred Wisher took a plea deal in the 2019 shooting death of Khyann Jones. Vermont Superior Court Judge John Pacht this week denied his efforts to throw out the plea deal and on Thursday imposed the 20-year sentence.

Wisher is already serving a 53-year federal sentence related to a crime spree in the state of Georgia and will serve the Vermont sentence concurrently.

He still has the option to appeal his sentence to the Vermont Supreme Court.
