Owners of the Gerardot development, now called Canterwood Subdivision, plan to start construction on the property off Cumberland Road as early as October after the Fishers Plat Committee voted Sept. 3 in favor of Pulte Homes’ plans for 21 new homes on approximately 9 acres.

The property has been a single-home lot and some residents of adjacent neighborhoods spoke during a public hearing before the committee’s vote, asking the developer to maintain trees that will create a buffer for privacy and noise.

Rex Ramage of Indianapolis-based Pulte Homes said there will be a minimum 10-foot buffer between the new development and neighboring homes, which includes preserving all mature, healthy trees.
