HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced a lawsuit against the Trump administration to overturn the stop order for Revolution Wind.
The state leaders made the announcement during a press conference on Thursday morning in Hartford.
The offshore wind project, which broke ground in 2023, was designed to supply both Connecticut and Rhode Island with sustainable energy and power more than 350,000 homes starting in 2026.
On August 22, the Trump administration issued a stop work order for the project because of “concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States”.
In response, Tong and Neronha announced a lawsuit to ask the court to declare the stop work order unlawful.
