In all the years has known Derek Trucks — from the time Trucks was tagging along after his uncle, Bruce Trucks, drummer for the Allman Brothers — there’s one thing that’s been constant.
“No, I have never heard Derek sing,” Haynes said about the guitarist, who even as a 12-year-old could outplay just about anyone. “Who knows? One day he might open his mouth and shock the hell out of everybody, and we’ll find out he’s as masterful a singer as he is a guitarist.”
