WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Wichita woman charged in the death of a 7-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter. She had initially faced a first-degree murder charge.
A judge will sentence Tasha Dillard on October 16.
Dillard was charged with the shooting death of Davion Gunter. Another child was playing with Dillard’s gun and shot Gunter.
An affidavit provided further details in the case against Dillard. In the court document, one of Dillard’s friends said seven children, ranging in age from one to nine, were inside the apartment in the 3700 block of East Ross Parkway on the night of March 15, playing while the adults stayed outside in a car, drinking tequila.
