Next week, we’re kicking off the theater season with our fall theater and arts preview issue. But as we look ahead to what’s next, it’s also appropriate to remember who we’ve lost. Each year, the Chicago Theater Bike Ride commemorates people in the community who died the previous year. The ride began in 2015 after a year of near-cataclysmic losses in the community, including the 2014 death at 46 of beloved actor Molly Glynn, who was struck by a falling tree during a sudden storm while riding her bicycle in a forest preserve with her husband, actor Joe Foust. Foust helped organize the first ride , and his admonition to everyone to “love hard” at Glynn’s memorial has become the motto for the ride ever since.
