GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Border patrol officers in Canada seized nearly 770 pounds of cocaine in a pair of stops at the Blue Water Bridge in Ontario.

The Canada Border Services Agency announced Wednesday that the first seizure happened on Aug. 13. A commercial truck from the U.S. tried to cross the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron to enter Canada when it was pulled over for a secondary examination.

“During the inspection of the trailer, border services officers found suspected cocaine contained in six boxes. The total weight of the narcotics was 150 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $18.8 million,” the CBSA said in a news release.

The driver, Gurjeet Singh, of Brampton, Ontario, was arrested and transferred into the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
