The Alberta RCMP Community Response Team have concluded a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the arrest of one individual and a seizure of multiple types of illegal substances.

A search warrant was executed on August 28 on a rural residence on Highway 16 near Spruce Grove. This search led to the seizure of 21 grams of fentanyl, four grams of methamphetamine, 50 tablets of oxycodone (an opioid -based pain reliever), 466 mL of GHB (a date rape drug), scales and 721 dollars of Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, RCMP have the following charges pending against a 54-year-old male resident of Spruce Grove: possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, trafficking fentanyl and proceeds of crime under $5,000.
