Now that the heat broke leading up to Labor Day, this is a good time to help things rebound.
It’s a time when gardeners can both mitigate the current mayhem and set the stage for what’s usually a cooler, damper, and kinder/gentler string of weeks as the growing season winds down.
Five jobs to consider:
1.) A good soaking or two . Give dry ground enough gradual water that the soil is dampened to just below and all around your plants’ root zones. Water slowly enough that the water soaks in and doesn’t run off packed, dry soil.
