An emotional trial began Tuesday for a woman who pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder of a family member on allegations she killed her father in Loveland last year.
In 8th Judicial District Court at the Larimer County Justice Center in Fort Collins, Heather Cushman, 33, appeared before Judge Joseph Findley for the first day of testimony Wednesday.
Heather Cushman was arrested in September 2024 and accused of stabbing her father, John “Clint” Cushman, to death after a conversation at a home located on the 800 block of East Sixth Street, according to previous reporting.
