HOPKINS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Deputies say Southside Elementary School in Hopkins County went on lockdown Thursday morning after an incident involving a student’s parent.
The sheriff’s office says 37-year-old Carrie Gamblin, a parent of a child enrolled at the school, went inside and made false, alarming statements to office staff.
This incident led to the school going on lockdown and emergency response from the Hopkins Co. Sheriff’s Office and Madisonville Police Department.
Deputies say school officials acted decisively in determining there was no immediate threat to students or staff.
Gamblin is charged with Terroristic Threatening, Disorderly Conduct, and False Report Which Generates An Emergency Response.
She’s being held in the jail on $5,000 cash bond. No mugshot is available.
