OTSEGO COUNTY — A Gaylord man died after his vehicle struck a tree in Livingston Township on Sept. 3, according to the Michigan State Police
According to a Sept. 4 news release, troopers from the MSP Gaylord Post responded to Townline Road near Fischer Road, where an officer from the Gaylord Police Department had already located the vehicle and begun lifesaving efforts. The driver, a 64-year-old man from Gaylord, was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries
A preliminary investigation showed the man was traveling southbound on Townline Road when his vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree. A witness told troopers there was no swerving or braking before the crash. Investigators believe the man was not wearing a seatbelt. The cause of the crash remains unkn
