KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A medical examiner has ruled a man’s June death as a homicide, the Kansas City Police Department shared Thursday.

KCPD said officers were called to the 3600 block of Warwick Boulevard on June 22, at 2:46 a.m. There, they found a man unconscious on the floor. The man, identified as 50-year-old Darriyun Webb, was transported to an area hospital and declared dead.

An investigation indicated the victim and a suspect had a physical altercation and Webb lost consciousness.

On Thursday, following a Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office review, homicide detectives were told the incident has been ruled a homicide.

Police said a man was identified as a suspect and interviewed at the scene.

It’s unclear when charges will be brought against him.
