The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s office has filed assault charges against a man in connection with a standoff with Broomfield Police at a hotel last week.

Brett Carlini, 28, has been charged with eight counts of first-degree assault for threatening a peace officer with a weapon and one count of second-degree assault on a peace officer, according to a release from the district attorney’s office . The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s office covers Adams and Broomfield counties.

Broomfield police were called to the WoodSpring Suites at 121 Edgeview Drive on Aug. 28 “for a man wanted on several felony violent crime warrants,” according to a post on X from the department.
