A longtime community staple for fresh French-Vietnamese fare is bidding farewell to Berkeley. Vanessa’s Bistro, open for nearly two decades on Solano Ave., will shutter permanently at the end of December. Co-owner Vi Nguyen told Nosh that her landlord won’t be renewing the restaurant’s lease and that, facing financial headwinds and dwindling foot traffic, keeping the business open is no longer viable.
