ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A sentence has been handed down to the man accused of selling a fatal dose of fentanyl to a St. Louis County woman.
Forrest L. Smith, 37, pleaded guilty in May to one count of distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of distribution of fentanyl. He has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors said that a woman was found dead in her bedroom on Oct. 5, 2021. Investigators found four capsules of fentanyl and messages on her phone showing she bought drugs the day before from Smith via an intermediary.
