Colorado Springs District 11’s Board of Education on Wednesday swore in Amanda Huber to replace board member Lauren Nelson, who resigned last month to focus on her role as El Paso County commissioner .
Huber is a longtime member of D-11’s District Accountability Committee and a mother of D-11 students.
“I wanted to thank the board and the community for taking me in and I look forward to working with all of the rest of you for the next three months,” she said following her appointment.
Huber will serve the duration of Nelson's term until the new board is seated in December. She is not a candidate in the Nov. 4 election.
Ahead of Huber’s appointment, the board passed a resolution of appreciation for Nelson, who was in attendance, and her service over the past four years. Board members
