TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A group of 12 is now huddled in a jury room, embarking on an effort to determine if Donna Adelson will spend the rest of her life in a Florida prison.

Deliberations began at 4:18 p.m. on Thursday.

They began right after closing arguments wrapped up. Adelson is accused of murder, conspiracy and solicitation.

In a last-chance effort to persuade jurors to acquit her client, Attorney Jackie Fulford delivered a fiery closing argument Thursday afternoon, arguing that prosecutors have a weak case.

“They like to spin evidence a certain way to make her look bad...that is not proof,” she said

Fulford argued jurors need to look at the evidence closely at Donna Adelson’s actions before Dan Markel was gunned down in his Tallahassee driveway in July 2014.
