A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:18 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 4 p.m. for Herkimer and Hamilton counties.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

"At 3:18 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Pitcairn to 7 miles west of McKeever. Movement was east at 35 mph," says the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
