GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A new operations center in Gaston County is helping local police cut down the time it takes to solve crime.

On Thursday, the Gastonia Police Department officially unveiled its Real Time Crime Center. Turns out, it has already seen a success story.

A few weeks ago, Flock cameras caught thieves stealing bathtubs outside of a Brookline Construction site. Matt Richardson informed police about it, and they got caught later on by the Dallas Police Department.

“We had our bathtubs sitting out and they were going to be installed the next day,” Richardson said. “Well, they came in and they took the tubs and the wall surrounds for the tubs.”

Richardson was able to work with police through the new Real Time Crime Center Flock cameras to catch the thieves.
