A 30-year-old man from Parsippany, New Jersey, drowned on Tuesday (September 2) while attempting to swim across the Delaware River near the Kittatinny Point picnic area in Pennsylvania. The incident occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m., according to the National Park Service (NPS).
The man was swimming with family members when he became tired and went under the water , which was about 17 feet deep. Emergency responders, including NPS rangers, New Jersey State Police, and water rescue teams from the Portland Volunteer Fire Department, quickly located and recovered his body. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
