MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Jen Avis joined Good Morning ArkLaMiss to share information about the benefits of pink pineapples.
Rosé Pineapples or Pink Glow pineapples came onto the market in 2020, and are grown in a specific region of Costa Rica. It can take up to 24 months to fully ripen.
Avis said that the pink pineapples get their hue from a chemical called Lycopene.
Lycopene is the chemical that makes tomatoes and watermelon red, its also found in carrots and papayas.
Avis said pink pineapples can have some of the following benefits:

relieves diabetic nerve pain
relieves stress in bones
